Lux InsideOut
the heart of europe in your hands

From your pick up spot of choice to the heart of the steel industry's main sites.

We will leave in the morning, at a time to be defined together, and drive to the South of the country.

We will first visit a typical village of the mining area, to see where people lived and we will get a feeling for life in these days.

Then the tour will take us to a mine that was made into a museum. We will take a train leading us into the mine and experience the working conditions 100 meters underground.

The tour ends with a visit to the blast furnace in Esch/Belval, one of the main processing units of the region and Luxembourg's main site during the steel production heydays. There, we will learn about the processing from coal to steel and have a great panorama view over the surrounding landscapes.
This tour is well suited for everyone interested in learning abou the Greater Region in the 20th century. Steel manufacturing was an essential instrument in the local economy. We will also gather an impression of how each separate region - France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany- deal with the legacy of this omnipresent past.
Entrance fees to museums and sights are included but openings are subject to seasonal changes. Light food and drinks are included too.
Duration of tour up to 7 hours. Time will be made for lunch but is not included in the price.
